As part of the strategy to boost Sonora’s economic growth and attract new global investments, Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño met with executives from TE Connectivity, a world leader in connectivity solutions. The company presented new expansion projects focused on industrial development and job creation in the state.
Commitment to Growth
Accompanied by Roberto Gradillas Pineda, Secretary of Economy and Tourism; David Soto Alday, Secretary of Labor; and Cynthia López, Deputy Secretary of Economy, the Governor highlighted that the trust of global companies such as TE Connectivity is the result of the Sonora Sustainable Energy Plan, which promotes infrastructure, technological innovation, and the transition toward clean energy in the industrial sector.
“We want to make Sonora the best destination for investment, with clean energy, modern infrastructure, and highly skilled labor. With the Sonora Plan, we are creating the conditions for global companies to keep choosing our state, while generating well-paid jobs for the people of Sonora,” Durazo said.
A Strategic Partner
The Government of Sonora reaffirmed its commitment to supporting companies that choose the state as their investment destination, offering competitiveness, legal certainty, and qualified human capital. These elements position Sonora as a national benchmark in advanced manufacturing, connectivity, and quality job creation.
Currently, TE Connectivity employs more than 10,000 people in Sonora: 6,184 in Hermosillo and 3,953 at its Empalme plant. The meeting was also attended by Jesús Gámez, Director of Operations; Gabriel Munguía, Legal Director for the Americas; and Jaime Corella, Human Resources Director in Mexico.
